题目：Using electrical geophysics and nuclear magnetic resonance to study carbonate pore structure
报告摘要：Characterization of fluid flow in carbonate reservoirs is complicated by its highly complex texture and pore network. The interpretation of macroscopic geophysical measurements in carbonate rocks remains phenomenological and challenging. Therefore, the detailed understanding of carbonate structures at pore- and core- scale is essential to develop realistic petrophysical relationships in carbonate rocks and to accurately predict reservoir porosity and permeability. Such research requires highly integrated research strategy including sensing, data analysis, and modeling. In this talk, I will present our study on carbonate pore structure characterization usingµCT imaging, electrical geophysics and nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), and digital rock physics at pore- and core- scale. Our results elucidate the how porosity, pore size distribution, and permeability correlate and change as the lithofacies change. We examined and discussed the applicability of current NMR and electrical geophysical petrophysical relationships, which were derived mainly from siliciclastic rocks, to carbonate rocks. In digital rock physics, we perform physics-based numerical simulations of porosity, pore size distribution, permeability, and electrical properties of carbonates on reconstructed 3D rock structure fromµCT imaging. The effect of compaction, cementation, as well as dissolution of carbonate on its petrophysical properties is also simulated. Our results suggested the application of geophysical measurements and pore-scale simulation helps advance our understanding of petrophysical properties in carbonate rocks and may ultimately improve interpretation of geophysical measurements in the field.
报告人简介：张弛，美国堪萨斯大学地质系（the Department of Geology at University of Kansas）Assistant Professor。本科毕业于中山大学，2014年获美国罗格斯大学（Rutgers University）博士学位。张弛博士专注于综合利用地球物理和生物地球化学等信息，结合物理建模，从微观和宏观尺度对地下介质特征进行精确表征，对控制地球介质和流体性质的物理、化学和生物耦合过程进行深入研究。近年来，张弛博士以第一作者（通讯）在Journal of Geophysical Research, Geophysics, Water Resources Research等期刊发表多篇论文。应邀在美国、中国、欧洲和中东等国家和地区开展学术报告会20余场。张弛博士活跃于美国地球物理联合会（AGU）和国际勘探地球物理学家学会（SEG）等多个国际学术组织。目前担任AGU地下地球物理分会秘书和AGU/SEG合作委员会主席。
