报告内容摘要:
Our research group has in the last 20 years mainly been involved in development of catalytic asymmetric reductions of a large number of substrate classes ranging from un-functionalised1 as well as functionalised2 olefins, ketones3 and imines4. The early research was mainly focused on the development of new catalysts and study of new substrates (vinyl fluorides,5 tetrasubstituted olefins6 etc). More recently we have become more interested in studying the specificity of a given catalyst towards the substrate.7 The main goal has been to develop catalysts that specifically reduces one substrate over another and use this feature to develop new reactions and further advance the field of catalytic asymmetric synthesis.
Another interest concerns the development of enantioconvergent hydrogenations. A major drawback of the asymmetric hydrogenation is that it is stereodivergent in regards to the geometry of the olefin. This means that E and Z olefins give rise to opposite enantiomers and requires the olefin to be pure, otherwise mixtures of enantiomers are produced. A convergent hydrogenation would instead convert both E and Z olefins into the same enantiomer, which would allow isomeric mixtures of olefins be used directly.
