Based on the university’s guideline for international students, the Engineering Training Center offered a two-week training course for international students. The Center had made specific teaching plans and course outlines for the course, and had organized resources for the teaching and tutoring of the students. The Dean’s Office had selected competent graduate students for translation and interpretation, and had been assisting the Center in communication, safety education and general administration.

The training was held from January 2 to 11, 2019. 99 international students coming from 5 different specializations, including petroleum engineering, mechanical engineering, civil engineering and computer science & software engineering, participated in the training.

The training comprised of basic and integrated skills training in lathe work, benchwork, digital milling and 3D printing. Integrated training required students to complete the imitation designing, machining, fitting and testing of an inertial bearingless car. The Center divided the 99 students into 25 groups, and each member in a team was required to accomplish all basic training modules.
