PolyU Tennis Team Visits SWPU

On the afternoon of January 5, 14 players at the tennis team of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, led by coach Yang Yonghong, visited SWPU, and had a friendly match with the tennis team of our university.

At the welcome ceremony, Dr. Xiang Jianfeng, deputy dean of the School of P.E., expressed a warm welcome to PolyU’s tennis team. Xiang said, “Your team, having won the team champion of the National Tennis Competition, is a highly competitive team. The friendly match has brought great opportunities to the tennis team of our university. The public sports reform in SWPU is at a critical stage, and the experiences in the development of PolyU’s sports club and teams are of great values for us to learn.”

Yang expressed his gratitude for the warm reception of our university. He gave a PolyU flag and a delicate album of his tennis team as a gift to SWPU. Athletes from both universities exchanged souvenirs.

Tennis teams of the two universities had a series of friendly matches, including men’s singles, men’s doubles, women’s singles, women’s doubles and matches between the coaches. Students and staff stopped to watch the exciting competitions, filling the tennis court with applauses. (provided by the School of P.E.)
