Introduction of Research

The first party congress of the school of petroleum and natural gas engineering made the decision that the location of our school should be as "building distinctive research and teaching university", and proposed a construction goal that, "in 2020, the school will be built into the a teaching and research type university featured and advantaged with oil and natural gas in engineering-based multidisciplinary and coordinated development," College of Petroleum Engineering undertakes the task of the State Key Laboratory of Oil and Gas Reservoir Geology and Exploitation construction, Oil and Gas Engineering Key National Disciplines construction, Oil and Gas Engineering undergraduate, graduate and other talents personnel training. Combined with the status and characteristics of the College of Petroleum Engineering, the institute proposed the Oil and Gas Engineering Construction as "research type" college goals. Scientific Research is the key component of "research" Institute. College of Petroleum Engineering always adheres to advance assessment of industry technology trends, closely tracking the latest international developments, focusing on the oil and gas industry of major current and future technology needs, carrying out basic research and technological innovation. Research areas including oil and gas wells, oil and gas field development, oil and gas extracting, oil and gas storage and transportation engineering have formed a steady academic directions and research characteristics, having a significant influence in the industry of academic orientation and Research. The main scientific research directions include: deep complex well drilling and completion of oil and gas wells working fluid, reservoir protection and underbalanced drilling, gas exploration and production safety in high-risk field, enhanced oil recovery, fracturing and acidizing stimulation technique, complex oil and gas technology ,oil and gas pipeline safety and integrity management technology.

Based on our features and advantages in discipline, our institute takes full advantage of combining research with manufacture. In 1988, Technology Development Agency of the United Nations set up China oil “Well Completion Technology Center”. In the same year, the Canadian government aided "the Canadian Gas Exploration and Development Technical Training Center". In1989, the State Key Laboratory of Petroleum Geology and Development Engineering was approved. In 2006, Education Ministry Engineering Research Center of natural gas development was established. In 2013, our institute was approved by the State to build a national energy high sulfur gas reservoir R & D center, and the national "College campus practice education base". In 2014, "Sichuan marine gas hydrate develop collaborative innovation center" was approved, consisting of 17 provincial and ministerial key laboratories. There are 4114 sets of laboratory equipment for Research and Teaching, which worth more than 16,675 RMB, covering about 24,076 square meters of the experimental space. Based on subject characteristics and advantages, give full play to Cooperative Feeding Effect: In 1988 the United Nations set up China Petroleum Technology Development Agency "Well Completions Technology Center", in 1988 the Canadian government aid "- the Canadian Gas Exploration and Development Technical Training Center." In 1989, the State Key Laboratory of Geology and Exploitation of Oil and Gas Reservoirs was approved. In 2006, the National Engineering Research Center for Natural Gas Exploitation and Education was approved. In 2013, the National R & D Center for High Energy Sour Gas Reservoirs was approved. In 2013, it was approved as National Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center, State-level "Extracurricular Practice Education Base for College Students", "State-level Virtual Simulation Experiment Teaching Center" and "Sichuan Ocean Gas Hydrate Development Collaborative Innovation Center" Key Laboratory for a total of 17 provincial and ministerial level scientific research and teaching laboratory equipment 4114 Taiwan (sets), worth more than 166.75 million yuan, the experimental space of about 24,076 square meters.

The college has always adhered to the advanced technology industry forecast trends, closely tracking the latest international developments, focusing on the oil and gas industry of major current and future technology needs, carrying out basic research and technological innovation. Research areas including oil and gas wells, oil and gas field development, oil and gas extracting, oil and gas storage and transportation engineering have formed a steady academic directions and research characteristics, having a significant influence in the industry of academic orientation and Research. During the "12th Five-Year Plan" period, the college undertook 55 major projects and projects (special topics) of major national science and technology projects, large-scale oil and gas fields and coalbed methane development, with a contractual fund of 109 million RMB, 12,973 and 863 projects and 5 National Natural Science Foundation of China (major) projects and National Outstanding Youth Fund Projects.

Our school has been awarded two special awards and two second prizes of national scientific and technological progress, a second prize of national technology invention, an excellence award of china patent, 12 first prizes and 17 second prizes of provincial technical invention and scientific and technological progress, 120 invention patents has been authorized. More than 300 papers were included by SCI, more than 120 papers were included by EI, more than 300 articles were included by CSCD, and 39 monographs were published. The National Science and Technology Progress Award 2, the second prize 2, the National Technology Invention Award 1, the Chinese Patent Excellence Award 1; provincial and ministerial level technological invention and scientific and technological progress award 12, second prize 17 ; 120 invention patents. Published more than 300 papers were SCI, EI included more than 120, CSCD included more than 300, a total of 39 monographs.
