Fortune Global 500 Company Kongsberg Visits SWPU, Seeking University-Enterprise Collaboration

On September 3, Wu Haifeng, Global Senior Vice President and General Manager of China at Kongsberg Digital, headquartered in Norway, visited Southwest Petroleum University to advance cooperation initiatives in talent development and scientific research within the oil and gas digitalization field. SWPU President Guo Jianchun met with Wu Haifeng and his delegation.

Guo Jianchun expressed the hope to deepen practical cooperation in student internship and employment, faculty academic exchanges, and domestic software development, to achieve mutual benefits and enable two-way empowerment for high-quality development between SWPU and Kongsberg.

Wu Haifeng stated his anticipation for engaging in diverse interactions with SWPU to facilitate targeted industry-academia collaboration. He aims to achieve in-depth cooperation in establishing research platforms, technology transfer, software development, talent cultivation, and personnel exchange. He believed this partnership would support the transformation and upgrading of the energy industry, opening new pathways for mutual development and pursuing breakthroughs for both Kongsberg and SWPU.

The two parties engaged in discussions on international project collaboration, the cultivation of interdisciplinary talents, and the intelligent transformation of the oil and gas industry.

Representatives from relevant departments of Kongsberg China, along with heads of SWPU Scientific Research Institute, Admissions and Employment Office, Petroleum Engineering School, and other departments attended the meeting.
